Red Dead Redemption 2 Weapons

This page contains a list of all of Red Dead Redemption 2‘s weapons.

As opposed to the original Red Dead Redemption, players will now have a limited inventory capacity. It appears that they can actively equip two long-arms and one or two sidearms, in addition to throwables and melee weapons.

GTA Online Crossover Weapons

There are two weapons found in Grand Theft Auto Online that can be used in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Double-Action Revolver

To obtain the Double-Action Revolver in Red Dead 2, you must first find it in GTA Online. To do this, you’ll have to complete a Treasure Hunt that is started upon receiving an email from [email protected].

Attached to the email will be a black and white picture of one of 20 locations, which will be random for you. The area in question, which you’ll need to search, will be marked on your map with a yellow question mark, thankfully the search radius for the area is fairly wide.

You’ll need to search this area for a note – which will be pinned to a random object: usually a rock, tree, or other pieces of the environment – and you’ll need to use the photo to find the general area that the note is located in. Note that when you start to get close, you’ll hear the sound of a wind chime.

Once you find the first clue, three more clues will appear on your map – the set of three clues can be found in any order:

  • A naked corpse with a wound to the head found in a tiny cave near a river in the Tongva Hills.
  • A gun case (that’s empty) found next to a tree in Grapeseed, at Joad Lane.
  • A blood-stained shovel found in a ruined building at Sandy Shores.

After finding the three clues, the final location of the treasure chest will be revealed – and will mark a random location on your map. Arriving at the site, you can spot two more corpses with another shovel, and a case that is marked “Boles Overland Stage Co.” – open the case and you’ll reveal the Double-Action Revolver, which will then be purchasable at Ammu-Nation.

Complete the headshot challenge you unlock by scoring 50 headshots against players or AI, and you’ll unlock a variant of the weapon in Red Dead Redemption 2 (if you have linked your Rockstar Social Club Account).

Stone Hatchet

Red Dead redemption 2 weapons

The Stone Hatchet is a melee weapon that can also be unlocked in Red Dead Redemption 2 by first obtaining it in Grand Theft Auto Online.

While playing GTA Online, be on the lookout for a text message from Maude Eccles, the warrant officer that you may remember from the bounty hunting missions in GTA V’s single-player mode.

Maude has a series of five Bounty Hunt missions to complete – once you complete all five, she’ll send you the location of the Stone Hatchet.

After collecting the Stone Hatchet, you’ll receive a challenge to get 25 kills with the Stone Hatchet – this is made easier by the weapon’s Rampage ability, which offers a short window of invincibility after kills, which can be chained to extend the effect. Complete the challenge to unlock the Hatchet in Red Dead 2.
