Starfield will be released in September 2023

The massive space role-playing game Starfield, developed by Bethesda Game Studios, will be released on September 6. The publisher revealed the new release date today in a video. Starfield Direct, an official presentation demonstrating more about the game, will air on June 11.

The release date came along with the new trailer exhibiting some brief gameplay and commentary from the game’s director, Todd Howard. Howard stated, “We have poured ourselves into this game, and even I’m surprised how much we can pour – it is large.”

Todd Howard also claims that the June Direct, which falls around the same week as E3, would offer a “deep dive” into the game. He emphasizes that while Starfield is a distinctive experience, it still offers many of the features that fans have come to expect from a Bethesda game. This summer during the Xbox Game Showcase, Bethesda showed off Starfield’s huge scope, which included tens of thousands of planets, starship building, environmental scanning, and other capabilities.

Prior to being postponed, Starfield was initially scheduled to launch on November 11, 2022. We’re glad to see the game has a confirmed date once more, even though September falls in the second part of the calendar year. It was later reconfirmed to launch within the first half of 2023.

Starfield will be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox Game Pass from the first day of availability.
