To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Skyrim, Bethesda Softworks announced that it is releasing The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Anniversary Edition on November 11th, exactly 10 years after its original launch date, for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.

This version includes everything in Special Edition. Bethesda is going to add over 500 pieces of unique content from Creation Club, including the ability to go fishing, new quests, weapons, and more to the game for all Special Edition owners. Also, if you own the Special Edition, there is an upgrade path to the Anniversary Edition, though it won’t be free.

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Anniversary Edition

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim was originally released in 2011. Since then it has received numerous re-releases. It was most recently remastered for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2016 when Skyrim celebrated its fifth anniversary.

Most likely they will remaster or port this game for the next one or two generations just like what Rockstar games is doing with Grand Theft Auto V. They won’t stop porting these games and we won’t stop playing these games.

Coincidentally, both new ports of these hugely successful open-world games are coming out on the same day, November 11, later this year. These games have outlasted multiple console generations.
