A new open-world Star Wars game with Ubisoft is a timely rumor, not least because LucasFilm is stepping away from its exclusivity arrangement with EA at the same time and now Quantic is probably working on a new Star Wars game.
Quantic Dream is Making A New Star Wars Game
Gautoz, a French YouTuber, said in a video this week that Quantic’s recent pushback on hostile work environment charges was to maintain this newly formed partnership with Disney, “They’ve now finished their contract with Sony and will be signing with Disney. It looks like they will be working on a Star Wars game.”
In spite of this, DualShockers’ Tom Henderson also shared an image to Twitter depicting a figure from Quantic’s Detroit: Become Human brandishing not one but two lightsabers on the top of his head. Isn’t it amazing how quickly curiosity may grow?
For the time being, without confirmation from either Disney or Quantic, we suggest you treat this as a rumor. However, we will let you know as soon as we get an update.
Earlier this year, Quantic Dream made an announcement saying that an investigation found no “toxic atmosphere” or “discrimination in the studio” in order to “put the record straight”.
Following a former employee’s claims and lawsuit in 2018, the studio released a statement in response to the accusations of a hostile work environment. It was discovered that inappropriate altered images of studio employees were being disseminated after a damning investigation into the poisonous working culture was conducted by a team of journalists from the French periodicals Le Monde, Canard PC, and Mediapart.
