Modern Warfare 2 Art Hints That Call of Duty Could Return to Steam

Call of Duty Could Return to Steam

Activision revealed Modern Warfare 2 last week, the upcoming sequel of the 2018s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which is scheduled for release on October 28 with a favourite character from the previous series, Simon “Ghost” Riley.

But it’s been five years since Activision released their last game in the Steam store. From Black Ops 4 to Vanguard, all of them were released on Battle.net. Time changes, it looks like the sequel may be coming back to Steam as well.

MWII Keyart hints Call of Duty Could Return to Steam

A Reddit user named Kalinine spotted a background image of Simon “Ghost” Riley which was recently teased as key art of MWII. The image was found at the bottom of the Call of Duty DLC page. But it’s already been removed and nothing shows underneath the page.

This is happening because of the poor sales of Vanguard. The game sold fewer than those for Call of Duty: Cold War. If this happens, other Blizzard games might follow it.

We don’t know much about the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II yet. Activision may drop a full trailer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II on June 8th.
