During Facebook Connect 2021, its CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is in the works for the Oculus Quest 2 virtual reality headset. During the event, no other details were revealed, such as the price, release date, or even a brief snippet of the game. Oculus’ official website also confirmed the release of GTA SA in a blog post. “This is a project that has taken many years to complete, and we can’t wait to show you more of it,” it says.
Oculus Quest 2 Event
Recently Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto III are being remastered, and the collection will be released on November 11th for a variety of platforms. The company did not specify whether the VR version of San Andreas is based on remastered assets or classic PS2 assets, but we have reached out to Oculus for more information on this release.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is not the first classic game being adapted for VR. Resident Evil 4 for VR was recently released, and the new adaptation performed better than expected.
