In the world of video game news, today is a historic day. The Epic Games Store now includes a shopping cart option, if you can believe it. This long-awaited addition to one of the most popular video game marketplaces on PC arrives about three years after the Epic Games Store first launched.
there’s an eight-second video introducing it:
Epic Games Store Shopping Cart Trailer
The announcement post states, “If you’ve shopped online before, the cart works exactly as you’d expect.” On game sites, there is a “Add to cart” button that, well, adds it to your cart. You may repeat this process until you have all the products you desire and are ready to check out.
If you want 5% of your purchase price to go to a certain author, you can provide a creator code at the time of checkout. If you want to store a purchase for later, there’s also a “move to wishlist” button.
This should allow my preferred method of internet shopping: perusing a store for an item or products I desire, adding them to my cart, then deciding I don’t need them and closing the window. This may be followed by my second favorite online shopping experience: buying something impulsively from the same store at a later date and failing to realize the old things are still in my basket, resulting in me buying them as well.
The Epic Titles Store has continued to extend its collection of exclusive and free games, despite the absence of a purchasing cart. Prison Architect and Godfall: Challenger Edition are free this week, and FF7 Remake will be available exclusively on the EGS next week.
