A few hours ago, EA revealed Battlefield 2042, a massive, near-future, sandbox title of the Battlefield series developed by DICE. It’s coming to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and Xbox One on October 22. EA will reveal more details and gameplay trailer on June 13.

Battlefield 2042 is set in the near-future world where it’s been ravaged by climate-driven disasters including sandstorms, tornadoes, and facing the most severe refugee crisis. The game features massive 128 players multiplayer mode on PC through Origin, Steam, and the Epic Game Store and Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S but 64 players on PS4 and Xbox Series One. Sadly there’s no single-player campaign this time. In last week, DICE general manager Oskar Gabrielson confirmed in a preview of the game and Instead, DICE will provide Battlefield 2042’s live service and seasonal content.
The game has three main modes and these are All-out Warfare, Hazard Zone, and an unannounced mode currently in development at DICE LA. All-Out Warfare is a multiplayer mode with two game types, Conquest and Breakthrough. Hazard Zone is squad-based and it definitely isn’t battle royale.
EA teased 7 maps in the reveal trailer. These are Kaleidoscope – set in Sogdo, South Korea; Manifest – set in Brani Island, Singapore; Orbital – set in Kourou, French Guiana; Discarded – set in Alang, India; Renewal – set in the Eastern Desert, Egypt; Hourglass – set in Doha, Qatar; Breakaway – set in Queen Maud Land, Antarctica. Maybe more will be added in near future.
DICE also added some new vehicles, equipments and weapons. Also, the game will launch with 10 Specialists and the shared infos about the first 4 agents. They are WIKUS “CASPER” VAN DAELE, WEBSTER MACKAY, MARIA FALCK, PYOTR “BORIS” GUSKOVSKY.
Battlefield 2042 will cost $59.99 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC through Steam, Origin, the Epic Games Store. But the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions are priced at $69.99. You can pre-order now by clicking here
